I just love everything about this.

So, I have had a vintage leopard coat that I cut the sleeves off of and never finished making into to anything other than it being a cut up vintage jacket. While on a trip to Hobby Lobby for some random craft items, I ran across pieces of leather that I thought would be great as a cap sleeve for this jacket. Inspired I sewed them on and still never wore the jacket. While I was in California, I found some gold pointed studs and was so inspired to put them on this jacket. I love the way that it turned out after all this time.

I was attending the Rockie Fresh “Driving 88” concert, so I paired it with a Splatt America tee, vintage denim, and ruby red Vince Camuto booties.

Nothing will ever top NYE 2010… except my next NYE outfit. And the one after that… and the one after that…

I unable to get a photo of me in the actual outfit due to the “obvious” reasons….

I have been obsessed with abstract prints. For me it is not a trend thing I just really enjoy getting lost in the abstract colors and prints and how they all mix together.

So for New Year’s Eve 2012 I decided to go with a Leifsdottir dress with sherbet faux fur cropped jacket from F21. I am not one to overdo things just because it is the holiday, so for jewelry I pulled two really basic pieces from my jewelry collection. I wore my pyramid two finger ring and a multi-metal rope chain necklace both from F21.

I have been loving pulling all of the blush/sherbet colors together so I wore one of my favorite Report Signature shoes and I never switch bags because the amount of things I carry in it so I carried my Zac Posen ZSpoke glitter patent bag. And I could not forget my designer brown paper bag for my champagne.

It it holiday time, time to get looks ready for the holiday parties. However, I am not really into getting glamed and glitttered up for every holiday party. This was my look to a Holiday party which I call, “Cosmic Holiday”

I am not really into Zodiacs but I do follow the general descriptions of the signs. I am a true Capricorn and have no problem with telling people so. Represented by the Goat, (notice the ring) I am a true Capricorn at heart being determined, ambitious, stubborn, patient, and practical (not when it comes to shopping though).

I picked up this Zodiac necklace while at the MAGIC Tradeshow over the summer and love to wear it.

And the boots I absolutely love. They are a two-toned/texture boot that I cannot get enough of.

So my good friend Cam, invited me to Model Art Collection Exhibit event last night that was pretty dope.

And when I say that I mean it literally. It was based the visual art from Kaori Nik with a focus on makeup, hair, and style. Kaori’s outfit was awesome and her green lipstick was killer… which did not photograph well because all I had was my cell phone.

Definitely check out her site for all her amazing work.

There were some stylist people that were there. I have to say that it is great to see events such as these in Chicago. Great to see good work, in a very laid back environment and not to mention stylist people.

Before a few years ago I never really cared for animal print let alone leopard print. As I got older and more experience with the wild pattern, I have purchased a few pieces of the I found this full length leopard print dress and fell in love. It was a simple dress that I found at Forever 21 while summer shopping.

It is a tank dress so I added a cropped sweatshirt and some heavy jewelry to add even more power to the print.

I Have an Evil Twin... and I Love it

So a while ago I fell in love with this Evil Twin blouse at Sofia Vintage . It is chiffon blouse with prefferated leather insert on the shoulders. I love black and white contrast so this blouse went perfectly into my wardrobe.

The simplicity of the blouse makes it easy to pair with a lot of different things but the detailing makes it stand out with anything that you pair it with.

I first paired it with a vintage burgandy calf length skirt and my favorite shoes for a sleek leather on leather look…

Then I paired it with tons of turqouise jewlery and a vintage sliver belt and again my favorite Jeffrey Cambell “Rocker” wedge.

I know it has been just about two months since the release of the Missoni for Target but, I still love every piece that I have purchased. They had the best marketing for the product selection and luckly enough I was able to get a few pieces. In my opinion, nothing is old it it is just how you make it new.

I made it new by adding various colors that were and were not in the patterned cardigan. I really love the blush tones and contrasted it with the ruby red Vince Camuto booties and blush colored pleated skirt and the obvious belted Missoni cardigan.

Before it got cold here in Chicago, it was much warmer literally two days ago, so the shorts made sense.

It just made sense to pair the black and emerald green velvet leopard blouse with black cut offs, a trench, and a pair of velvet booties for a night out.

I usually very minimal about jewelry when I am out. I just love wearing a piece that makes a nice accent to the outfit. The pola is not too clear but I really love this lava rock ring that picked up while out to lunch one day.

I picked up these velvet boots while in NYC for NYCFW a few years ago from LF. I have not had that many times to wear them so loved the opportunity to pair them with this outfit.

Rockie Fresh had a listening party for his upcoming project releasing later this year at Leaders 1354 last night, I arrived later than expected and did not get to listen to his great music which sucked but “No Fear” keeps me ready for anything else he is ready to put out there.

I have known Rockie since the “Ac Green” video shoot and he is a great guy and even more of an amazing artist. I did not get to hear more of Driving 88, but did manage to grab a picture of Rockie and the beautiful Miss Ayikaza my girl from Sir & Madame. I love them both they are great.

I am a lover of vintage Coach. Not to say that Coach is not great now, there are some amazing pieces out now. However, I have always been a big lover of vintage handbags. Steaming from the fact that I really don’t care for carrying a handbag anyway. I carry them out of convenience, not because it is the newest statement bag. I love the following Coach bags because one they are all vintage and that most of them were my mother’s. That means a lot to me. It is like walking around with a constant fashionable reminder of my mom.

But honestly the story of Coach and Bonnie Cashin are amazing, and if you don’t know they story I suggest you read about it. It is so iconic and lovely.

The images featuring the Polaroids, are images that have inspired me a lot with the blog and I thought that I would should share them with you.

This is really not a fashion post but an inspiration and the relationship that I have with Polaroids. No, I did not invent the Polaroid or know anyone who has, but I do feel that I have a personal connection with Polaroids. When I was younger, I can always remember my Aunt Mary pulling out the Polaroid camera trying to get a picture of my cousins and I around the Christmas Tree (too bad I could not find the original of that), but I can always remember how amazed I was with a camera that was like photographic memories. To capture something so instant. You capture all the emotion, imagery, and feelings. Whenever you look at a Polaroid, you can almost automatically feel the emotion in that photograph.

I have had the opportunity to work with some amazing photographers such as Lynnette Astaire and some nice NYC street vendor who specialized in Polaroids, who have actually take original Polaroids of me, (not with the portable Polaroid, but with the one where you have to stand under the black sheet), which was such an honor and amazed me quite a bit. The NYC street vendor who took the image of me above means so much to me and if you cannot tell I was very overwhelmed/tired in the image, and if I were to tell you the story about the trip you would totally understand. But hopefully you can already tell by looking at the photograph.

Now, for the blog I have to admit that I do not take the photos with my original Polaroid camera, I usually take it with my point and shoot and use a program that develops them in the unique and fun way that the Polaroids are developed on the computer. Thank God for technology or I would be out of a lot of money for the Polaroid film.

Recently I have been feeling very eclectic and tribal and it has translated into the way I am putting clothes together. I was really inspired by the print in the sheer shirt.

I really love this necklace, it was a gift from California. I think that it is a real leaf and then it was dipped in gold.

Over the past few years, I have been in love in with two-finger rings, this is one of my favorites since I have lost my favorite two-finger rings over the summer.

Well in Chicago we have currently had an Indian Summer.

It is currently October and I do not mind pulling out the leather shorts again. I kept warm by adding a fringe style sweater.

To add some pizazz to the outfit I chose to wear my feathered necklace. I love this necklace because it adds detail to any outfit.

But, over all I love this look especially the hat because it makes the look so mysterious.

Tapping into my animal instinct, I added one of my favorite pair of shoes the Jeffrey Campbell “Stunning”.

I love this shoe because one the heel hight, I love extremely high heels and they are fur (I don’t think real fur)! And I just had to add socks because my love of socks.

I really love this outfit. It was fun and adventurous. I love getting dressed.

Love Missoni For Target

So, yes I was one of the fanatics for the Missoni for Target. I was anticipating the release of this collaboration ever since they released the date that it was going to be released. I have to say that the marketing for the collection collaboration, was the best I have seen in a very long time. I loved how mysterious and fun the commercials were and the color scheme of the clothes are amazing. I was one of the lucky ones that was able to shop online and get the pieces that I really wanted. Yeah, call me crazy but I was up at 5 a.m. shopping to make sure I got what I had anticipated for months.

I know it seems very weird however I was the most excited for the socks… I have a thing for really colorful socks. So with these colorful Missioni socks I paired with a mid-calf skirt and a shoulder cut out shirt. I added pops of colors with the yellow beanie and ruby Vince Camuto booties.

I am Destiny Love Jones a creative consultant with a focus in fashion. I am not a typical fashion girl and this is not going to be your typical fashion blog. Feel free to tell me what you think. I am a Chicago native, and as I entered my senior year in high school she re-directed her career goals from forensic science to a desire to pursue fashion as a career. Instead of racing off to New York or Los Angeles, I chose to attend Columbia college Chicago graduating with a Bachelor of Arts, Entertainment, Media Management with a focus of fashion retail. I have a strong belief that you can study fashion anywhere, but it is your talent that will take you where you need to go to learn and succeed.

To me, my decision paid off. Columbia College Chicago was a great choice for me where I was inspired by music, art and the unique culture that Chicago has to offer. Doors have opened that has allowed me experience amazing adventures. While attending college I furthered my knowledge of fashion by staying abust in the industry and by working with various fashion and entertainment professionals. Destiny established herself as a Chicago fashion paragon by attending various events in Chicago and writing for various online publications such as Ruby Hornet and CY Magazine.

My unique fashion not only allowed her to write for these publications yet it also allowered her sense allowed her to be featured on websites and in online magazines. This not only established me as a fashion expert, but also made me into a distinguished journalist producing my own blog Destiny Love Jones and Destiny Love Jones Issuu Volumes.

I have come far from her childhood of dressing Barbie dolls for play. I’ve become a bright young lady has become a fashion and a creative professional. My congeniality, combined with great fashion, great reputation, and an intense work ethic has made me to what I’m today, and much more to come.

Photography is Art: “Redlining”

This past Sunday it was a very special day for many students who graduated from Columbia College Chicago. For a such a grand accomplishment my friend and great photographer Bradley Murray had a showing of “Redlining” at Black Cloud Gallery. “Redlining” is a series of photos that demonstrate the segregation among the City of Chicago through the stops of the infamous Red Line “L” train that translate to other various racial and cultural barriers within our society, past and present. Bradley also showed some of his other work that included several pieces that we worked on together, including the Definitive Moments video. Congrats to Bradley.

Today was a big day for me. I got to meet one of my idols, Rachel Roy. Rachel has been such an inspiration to me since I was in high school and she was the merchandise coordinator for Rocawear, which was the only thing that I wore in high school. I could not afford her Rachel Roy full line as a college student but I keep up with her work and was so excited when she launched Rachel by Rachel Roy.

I was one of the first at Macy’s on State when it launched about two years and featuring some pieces that I wore on the blog. One of my first posts on Destiny Love Jones was of the love of her printed leggings. I love all the pieces that she has to offer because they are so unique. I love the way that she mixes ethnic prints with practical styles for the woman on the go. I love that she loves pockets on garments as much as I do.

I love Rachel Roy from researching her career in high school, styling her garments when I was a visual stylist at Macy’s, blogging about her lovely garments to meeting her today. The fact that it was past 4p.m. (the event was basically over) and she still was willing to sign the box of my first pair of Rachel Roy shoes and take a picture…pure love.

It was a casual saturday so I pulled together a simple outfit that I could one ride my on my Vespa, shop, and be stylish. I wore a Elizabeth and James jacket, F21 pants,

Once again I must apologize for not keeping everyone updated with the progress of the blog. The other day while shopping after lunch, I ran across this ring that I had my eye on for a while, and it being the last one I just couldn’t help myself from buying it to add to my collection of rings.

I am sure you are thinking what does this have to do with the Bulls. Well I am deeming this my lucky Bulls ring. I have always been a fan of basketball and especially Derrick Rose and the Bulls. This playoff season reminds me of the Chicago summers in the early 90’s when I would watch Michael Jordan and the Bulls games with my father. Now it is Derrick Rose making history and now you usually find me at out somewhere enjoying the game. Nevertheless, I have deemed this ring my Bulls Chicago Championship ring. To celebrate the Bulls advancing to the next round of the playoffs I am totally wearing this ring until we win the actual championship rings.

I stumbled upon this amazing boutique when I took a trip to NYC for NYFW and I saw the LF Jeffrey Campbell “Rocker”and it has been one of my favorite pairs of shoes in my closet and one of my favorite boutiques.

While checking out all the new S/S 2011 product releases and lookbooks I ran across this “Stunning” LF and Jeffrey Campbell mary jane that is featured in the LF “Fearless Future” S/S 2011 lookbook.

I mixed the stripes, snakeskin and LV logos and came up with this….

The Chicago spring weather has not been what I have expected for the spring season, but in Chicago you can only expect the unexpected (it’s true, as cheesy as it sounds). One day it’s almost 60 degrees and the next day it’s 32 degrees that lasts for the next week. I guess the mix up in weather has inspired me to mix and match prints. I traditionally love stripes and since this striped top had various shades of red, grey and nude, I paired the stripes with chambray trouser jeans and accented everything with some bold yet simplistic accessories. Such as my golden knuckle ring and vintage Louis Vuitton lock necklace.

I really love this necklace because the lock was once belonged to my mother’s Louis Vuitton that my father bought for her, when she was pregnant with me. I really cherish the lock and it’s meaning to me, so I created a necklace out of it!

To add a little kick to the ensemble, I paired the outfit with snakeskin wedges from Jeffrey Campbell.

Back like the first day of spring…

As I was walking to dinner on the first day or should I say evening of spring, Chicago is luke warm, cloudy and rainy. I have spent the past three months wishing for better weather. For the winter I found myself in hibernation, reflecting on various expects of my life… including the role of fashion in my life. After a few weeks in numerous layers, fashionable yet heavy boots, full length furs, and a my giant Chanel bag, I thought to myself, “Is looking great and staying warm this really worth it”?, And after being teased by 50 degree weather on NYE and then the disappoint of a blizzard just a few weeks later, and the excitement of the resort season (until you realize that you are not taking a trip to any place warm anytime soon), I wanted to just stay under the covers and sleep until the sun shined and it was warmer than 40 degrees. I would even find myself questioning the idea of my methods of getting dressed and style. Fashion was not exciting me anymore and I couldn’t help to think “what is wrong with me… could I really be falling out of love with fashion…”

And after the seemingly coldest and longest winter ever, I saw the wonderful color palette and the collections of the S/S 2011 season. I instantly fell in love again. This fashion identity crisis I was going through was something that not only I was going through but fellow fashion dwellers. I have to say that the Winter was a great time for reflection, but Spring has to be one of the inspiring times of the year.

Inspired by all the bold prints and the mix and match approach to spring, I mixed patterns and fabrics can developed a interesting fashion combination. I loved the fact that I got to wear (hopefully for the last time) my favorite scarf from H&M for brisk night of spring.

Dinner was amazing courtesy of Paris Club that provided great service, a Stella Artois and Le Hamburger. But I am back with a revived spirit and stronger desire for my love…

This is not normal Chicago Fall weather, and I am loving it. Usually if I am wearing a fur, it is mostly to keep warm and then for style. But not this time. This Indian Summer we have been having in Chicago I got to wear my fur stole just for style purposes this time.

I paired this vintage fur stole with a pair of cut off shorts with heather grey tights, knee high socks (love) and my favorite, a striped sweater.

Even though I have not been a big sneaker head in my adulthood (Converse usually being the only sneakers I would wear), I was definitely one as a child. I had every pair of Jordans that came out, every Saturday my father would take me to the mall and him and I would get a pair. Well, I decided for this outfit to attend a Gatorade film viewing to bring the Jordans back with a slightly preppy twist.

I paired the Retro 14’s with a Polo Ralph Lauren shirt and a wool Gap sweater over a leme body suit. I added some wool socks just for kicks. And to keep with the classic look I added my favorite Chanel bag.

So I started the blog with the concept of Love and Polaroids for many reasons.

1) Love is instant, you know the feeling and sometimes cannot describe it.

2) Polaroids are also instant they capture the moment and it is very personal.

3) And I really love Polaroids.

I felt the they were a great combination so I went with it, and it turns out that it some of you love it as much as I love it, so it works !

While in NYC, I was in SoHo and came across this older gentleman who was taking the original Polaroids.

Intrigued, I had to stop and ask to purchase one of the Polaroids. The gentleman had taken photos of everyone, even the famed Karl Lagerfeld. He was so passionate about his craft, he stated, “I do it because I love it”…. and I loved it.

The Polaroid that I got really did capture the moment, I was hot and tired but I loved every minute of it.

Fashion’s Night Out was the most hectic yet best thing I have attended. While in the mist of the fashion chaos, I attended the 5th Ave Prada event and it was amazing. Mostly because I got the chance to meet Vogue’s Creative Director Grace Coddington. She has been such an inspiration to me and it was absolutely surreal. She even complimented me on my dress that I was wearing from FURIO Apparel’s S/S 2011 collection. I nearly fainted. I cannot forget about the visual displays at Prada. As a visual merchandiser, I was in awe. It was an amazing concept with even a Grace Coddington inspired mannequin.

While walking down the street during Fashion’s Night Out, I approached by a beautiful woman who asked about the shoes that I was wearing. Knowing that the shoes that I was wearing were attention getters, I quickly replied, with “Oh they are Jeffrey Campbell’s”,

Noticing that the young lady looked familiar, I did a double and to my surprise it was model Sessilee Lopez!

Amongst the FNO commotion, Sessilee was very nice walking down the street with me and even answering some of my questions about NYFW and her recent spread in Jones Magazine. In a rush Sessilee, had to scurry off to find a friend that she was attending a party with.

Before my trip, I stocked up on magazines and picked up the new Jones Magazine

(which I LOVE), in which Sessilee was the featured cover story. The amazing spread discusses her success in the industry and her well-known feature in Vogue Italia “All Black Issue”. I really do love Sessilee’s story and her work.

After finding her friend, I ran into Sessilee again at the Fashion’s Night Out DKNY party, again where she was very humble and even pointed out my shoes to her friend and complimented me me again on the S/S 2011 FURIO Apparel dress that I was wearing.

I love NYC for the fact that you never know who you will run into on the streets of NYC.

I have to say that I am going to miss Summer but I nothing is compared to the love that I have for the Fall season. What I love the most about the Fall season, is not only the weather but the the up and coming Spring/Summer fashion shows. I know that may seem a little backwards, but I love the fact that you can dress in fall clothing and still enjoy S/S fashions. Over the holiday weekend I attended Chicago designer Sheila Rashid’s S/S 2011 fashion show, which I have to say was great. I love the collection fabrics and the classic and feminine dresses. I have to say I loved all the shorts from the collection.

I love attending fashion shows not to mention dressing for one. It gives me a rush that I cannot really explain. Inspired by various F/W 2010 collections especially Dolce & Gabbana’s F/W 2010 that lead me to I pair a black vintage lace shirt

Its been a while… since there has been some consistency with the blogging on Destiny Love Jones, and I would like to thank you for hanging with with me. I have a lot of love to spread so it has been a bit rough to keep up but I am here. However, the lack of posting has been because of a great work.

Lesson learned this Summer: Don’t always engulf yourself in work and loose sight of enjoying life. Love the remainder of your Summer, it only comes once a year.

The July 4th weekend was the perfect host of fun and love. To set off the holiday weekend, was the Sir & Madame store opening on Friday.

As a kid I always was taught that you could not wear Polka Dots and Stripes together. This holiday I decided to try to rule out this supposed fashion rule, and I liked the result of the outcome… I simply paired my red polka dot Betsey Johnson bathing suit and a pair of Proenza Schouler shorts.

This weekend, I remembered myself as a child being obsessed with all of Candy Land and all of its colors. I could not wander through a Candy Land, but I could walk the streets of the city feeling amazing.

I must dedicate a post to my great friend Josh for graduating from college. It is such a huge accomplishment and I am so happy that I could celebrate with him.

Josh is a southern gentleman with great style. He is one of the few men that I know personally that is stylish on all levels. He is the only guy I steal clothes from, because he is the only one who will let me. However, his mother was a bit baffled about his outfit of choice for his graduation and asked my opinion about his red seersucker, green knit tie and his black slacks.

My response: I did not realize the color of his tie (green), I thought it was black, however I like the contrast between the texture of the seersucker and the texture of the knit tie.

I am very proud of Josh for his amazing accomplishment and his excellent style.

To celebrate this accomplishment, I wore one of my favorite designers Rachel Roy.

The inspiration for my outfit was the print of the Rachel by Rachel Roy shirt that I recently purchased at Macy’s .

I simply paired it with a linen skirt, braided belt and vintage linen jacket.

I have been itching to wear one of my favorite Report Signature shoes

and they were the perfect addition to the outfit.

I have to say that I love Solemates Sir&Madame products and really love the womens tees that Solemates has to offer. The quality on the tee are absolutely amazing and not to mention the logo. Solemates in the process of re-locating from their Northside store on Halsted to 938 N. Damen. I just love the shirts so much, I just had to spread the love.

Last night I wore the following Sir&Madame shirt with army fatigue jacket.

I accompanied the ensemble with a pair of velvet Jeffrey Campbell boots and a vintage Chanel bag.

Yesterday, I attended the N.E.R.D x Leaders 1354

meet and greet event at Leaders 1354 and it bought back so many memories. I can remember going downtown to buy N.E.R.D’s “In Search Of” album at Virgin on Michigan Ave, which has now been transformed to Forever 21, and getting in trouble for singing ‘Lapdance’.

I can also remember soon after the release of ‘Frontin’, I randomly purchased a shirt that said “I kissed Pharrell” (I didn’t really kiss him)… anyways enough of the fashion memories.

Yesterday inspired by the cooler of the warm Chicago weather, and the events of the day, I decided to opt for my Uni-Qlo cream denim and a denim shirt.

To create a dramatic look for an easy outfit, I opted for statement jewelry

and my lovely Zinc shoes.

Even though I was running around all day, I still chose the Zinc shoes because I love the extra hight to get the perfect photos for events and they are cute.

While waiting for N.E.R.D. to arrive at Leaders 1354, I took some time to check out the merchandise from the Billionaire Boys Club and Ice cream currently at the Leaders 1354. For some reason, I have been interested in luggage and immediately fell in love with the backpacks.

I am not much of a bag or purse person, but I really did enjoy the prints from the backpacks.

I was recently asked the question, was I planning to start on a project with designing my own garments and the answer is absolutely not. This was in reference to what I wore the CS Fashion Show I admire fashion designers that have the talent and patience to sew. I wouldn’t mind collaborating with a designer for helping design and style collection but I am horrible with detailed sewing the most I can do is a hand stitch hem and I have not even mastered that. I can get my ideas out on paper with my ability to sketch. However, I did push myself to turn a vintage gaucho jumpsuit with awesome fabric into a dress with the help from my lovely mother.I absolutely loved the fabric on this garment which was a digital floral print.

Now I have never really knew about this “4.20” day until this year. And oddly enough on my early morning walk I see this as the cover of the Red Eye.But in mockery of this day, I put on my “Its Not The Anorexia Its the Drugs” tee. As a did that I remembered that the new brand Dope Boy Magic (who produced the widely recognized “Money.Cars.Clothes.Hoes” collection of tees and sweatshirts), released their “Louie Weed” design. I got to get a peek of the process of getting the products ready and I saw the unique packing of the logo. It is so clever and keeps the distinctness of the brand.

One, I love the weather in Chicago and, I love when the weather encourages people to push the envelope when it comes to fashion.

The weather inspired me to do something a little different, wear pastels. I am and never really have been a big fan of pastels but I found this cool IZOD shirt and I wanted to try it. Not to mention it matched my LV brown paper bag bag from Black Market Caviar . I have a thing about not liking to carry a traditional purse so I grabbed this printed brown bag and used it as if it was a 2,000 purse from the store.

I was in great fashion company last night. My good friend Brandon (BLR) definitely pushed the envelope with this one, two words: flight suit.

I also loved my good friend Josh’s outfit with the floral button down shirt with a Ralph Lauren sports jacket and a great pair of denim.

I cannot forget the awesome tee that Patrick had on the Akomplice “Crack” Dave Chappelle tee which featured the character from Chappelle’s Show Tyrone Biggums.

And last but not least, my guy Matt (Contraband) and his personal twist on the mens favorite trend this season, the army fatigue cargo shorts.

For the short time that I was out, I was surrounded with four great men with great style.

Last night I attended Mano’s birthday party and it was crazy. While it was getting crazy, I was at home still trying to figure out what I wanted to wear. It seemed that nothing was right. Then I remembered that I had a little something special hidden on my garment rack.

My Jean Paul Gauliter for Target dress. I slipped it on a it was an automatic ‘yes’. But something was missing, I wanted something a little different. So, I took a shirt that could be draped and manipulated well and made it into a one shoulder accent piece to the dress.

Then I threw on some heels and beloved two finger ring

and hit the door.

Eventually I got there partied and after the party I got to catch up with two of my favorites.

Just that simple. What is not going to be simple is cleaning up my room.

Spent the week conceptualizing, planning and, storyboarding photoshoots, and playing around with clothes.

I took a few random shots before I had lunch with Melissa and my dinner with my parents later… I had to make sure I had some room in my outfit for the food I was planning to eat.

I love these ankle pants with the flats… It is something I don’t wear too often.

Yesterday evening I attended another fashion event at Black Market Caviar.

It was the “Coco Chicago” Chicago Cubs Opener shirt release. BMC also featured their awesome “LV Paper Bag” that I absolutely adore.

Yesterday evening Drapes earrings and accessories was featured in a fashion show at District that was simply amazing.

I have known Ashley for a while since I styled her lookbook/promotional materials and she is a wonderful person and very talented designer.

(I have these and ♥ them)

The fashion show featured all accessories which was very interesting to see the models flaunt accessories as they would carefully created couture garments.

This model to me was the most beautiful model in the show. I loved her!

The pieces from all the designers were great but…

I HAVE TO HAVE THESE EARRINGS FROM DRAPES FOR SPRING!!!!!

Now on to what I wore….

The weather in Chicago is so fickle, when I left out this outfit was fine and then after 9pm, I would have liked a pair of pants… but it was all for the love of fashion. But the good ol’ heirloom fur came in handy.

I really love these these Kelsi Dagger booties with the flower especially for Spring

I really love bright colors on nails (when I have the time to paint them) and I really love the unique names they give the polishes. This color was named “Totally 80’s”.

Later that day, It was no longer raining so I changed outfits and made plans to go to the The Shrine to see the best show I have seen in a while. The people at The Shrine always take great care of me.

I wore, Rachel by Rachel Roy but she is going to make me go broke because I love all of her stuff!

I love the yellow snakeprint blazer with the graphic lining. I like to roll up my sleeves and show the cool print.

Rainy days don’t always have to be gloomy.

I have to say that I loved everything about yesterday. It was warm, sunny and I really tried something a little different with my outfit. Usually the first warm day of Chicago, I always wear a dainty dress and pumps. However, I had a ton of errands to run and I felt that I had to take control and get things done. So with that said, my to-do list and my morning attitude inspired my outfit.

I just had to add the James Piatt “Persuader” bag to accent the military feel. I did get stopped my security while I was shopping, but in a good way. They loved the bag.

My beloved sunglasses….

Yesterday I wanted to relax and finally enjoy my spring break. I love movies so I went to see the new film Chloe. The sexual thriller (I think made that genre name up) was absolutely amazing. The imagery in the movie was great. I really love the actress Amanda Seyfried and her character on the show Big Love. She really did a great job as the character Chole.

Yesterday, I received a phone call from my good friend Lynnette Astaire called me and told me that she had an event and she really needed something to wear.

I know how it is to have to find something amazing to wear but you are working so hard you are just trying to find your mind. I knew at her event that she would be taking photographs, so I kept in mind that she would need to wear something very comfortable but sexy.

I chose the Rachel by Rachel Roy black jacket from the Eternal Sunshine Spring Collection and a jersey cutout dress because I wanted her to make a statement without being too flamboyant.

Plus she has a great body and why not show it off. I really love the cut out detail in the back on both pieces and the contrast of color, it definitely made a statement.

Lynnette expressed to me that she was not a big person to wear patterns so I chose a jacket that would accentuate the color of the dress and to have a little detail on the inside of the jacket to add depth to the outfit.

Let’s not forget about the shoes. One word…. Chanel.
